What We Believe

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God and inerrant in the original writings. We believe in one God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and the Savior of all men and women who put their faith in Him alone for eternal life.  We believe that those who receive new life in Christ are called to be holy (set apart for His purpose) in character and conduct, and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord’s Spirit.  We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe God wills for people everywhere, and without prejudice, to know Him and to have a personal relationship with Him, the one who sticks closer than a brother.  We believe that the purpose of the Church is to tell the world about Christ through it’s worship, witness and loving deeds.

We believe that for men and women to begin this personal relationship that God’s grace has made available, they must voluntarily respond in repentance (a complete turning of direction) and faith.  The ability comes from God, but the act is the individual’s.  Repentance is prompted by the convicting ministry of the Holy Spirit.  It involves a willful change of mind that renounces sin and longs for righteousness, a godly sorrow for and a confession of past sins, proper restitution for wrongdoings, and a resolution to reform the life.  It begins in the agreement of the mind and the consent of the will to the truth of the gospel, but issues in a complete reliance by the whole person in the saving ability of Jesus Christ and a complete trusting of oneself to Him as Savior and Lord.
